Annual Summer Vacay to Utah!

We weren't about to let a new job and move prevent us from taking our annual summer trip to Utah but boy, what a crazy hectic trip it was! Thankfully it's always a ton of fun so it was well worth it! The trip began with me and the kids flying out from Ohio while jack flew out from FL. Jack was thankfully able to spend ten days out there with us before him and I flew back to FL so I could go on another house hunting trip in hopes of finding a house. After being unsuccessful at finding a resale house but successful at finding a lot and a builder I returned back to UT to grab the kids only to jump on a plane the next day to return with them back to Ohio to finish off our summer activities! Sound exhausting? Yes it was! Here are some of the highlights of our time in Utah...

Off to the temple with Grandma and Grandpa...

Always love timing our hike up to the top of the 'Y' with the sun setting...

A day out on Deer Creek...

After a fun day on the water, Gary took the whole family to a soccer match in Salt Lake! Aside from watching the boys run up and down a field when they were about six years old, we hadn't been to a soccer match so this was a first for us! It was a great way to spend a nice evening after a day on the boat!

Of course a visit in the summer wouldn't be complete without being there to light up the sky in honor of Grandpa's birthday...oh and America's! It was such a treat for Grandpa to have everyone in town for his special day. Try not to cringe looking at Jack's nasty shirt from a guys trip he went on a couple years back that he insists on wearing now every 4th of July.

This year the boys attended their first EFY at BYU with their buddy Wyatt. They were pretty excited to enjoy dorm life, eat at the cafeteria (yes, that is a highlight for them) and of course meet girls! Here are a couple shots from drop off.

I had to laugh when midweek through I sent the boys a text asking how they were doing and Connor's response was "How do you think it's going?" with this photo attached...lol!

Someone else has a birthday this week!!! Happy birthday sweet Teagen!!!

When the boys are away the rest of us will play...and that's what we did! Although I felt a tad bit bad the boys were missing out on some of these fun activities we did while they were at EFY, I knew it was a treat for Sage to have us to herself! The boys and I had zip lined up at Sundance last year after it had first opened but Sage wasn't old enough so this year we decided to try another new one that had just opened up at Deer Creek and take Sage with us! This was more of an adventure course with ten zip lines and 7 bridges and boy did we feel like we earned all those zip lines from all the stairs we climbed and bridges we had to cross to reach them! It was a lot of fun though but definitely a lot more work than all the other zip lines we have done...haha!

Jack's not one to waste his vacation days so the next day we headed up to Midway to do some back country exploring. It was such a blast!!! I don't know that we could ever retrace where we were but thankfully we all made it back in one piece!!!

Of all the places around the world we've been fortunate enough to travel to, there is no place we'd rather be than out in Utah with these wonderful people!!!

After Jack and I took off to FL, the boys spent a few days at a BYU sports camp while Sage enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa to herself. From bowling to ice cream to swimming to alpine slides, to trampoline places to going to the movies, it's a wonder Sage even agreed to come back home with us! Thanks for another fantastic visit Grandma and Grandpa! And Grandma, it wouldn't be tradition without you taking your good bye photo in your nightgown...lol!!! xo
